Worry Wart

it is official. I'm a worry wart.


Today I am taking 160 students and chaperones to see a performance of Les Miserables at the Ogunquit Playhouse. I have attendance sheets, rules to read on the bus, I've sent numerous emails. I don't know what more I can do........But I'm still worried something will go wrong.

On a good note, I have my small group chorus today. It's a chorus of 42 auditioned members grades 5 through 6. We are working on some tough tough tough music and I hope to have sound clips in the near future!

I'm doing the thing I hate most

Well, one of the things I hate most...

I hate having to tell children that they didn't make an auditioned singing group. About 60 students have auditioned for a select chorus that I direct in my school. I was able to take 42 last year, it really should have been 40..........I'd rather only take 35. The more students you have, the harder it is to keep attendance accurate and it's harder to keep everyone on pitch.

On one hand, do you take a student who's on the borderline? Or do you only take students who are 100% accurate. Either way you lose - the group suffers with one, or an individual is upset.

I currently have 32 I'd like to take and I still have one whole day of auditions left to hear!!!!!!!

School's almost here

Ack, School is closing in around the corner and just because I'm ready, doesn't mean I want to go back!

Another year of seventh graders who think they know everything, choruses that just want to rap, and general music classes that just want to sit back and do nothing all year. Time to MOTIVATE!

not much new.

There's not much new on the home front here. The kits are well and annoying as ever. Shutterfly didn't send a package they were supposed to. School is just plain, ech. I do like the general music classes and the choruses, there's a ton of potential there, but the administrative stuff just gets in the way.

First Day Back...

It was my first day back today, to school I mean. I didn't miss it, but look forward to a new set of students. I'm panicking about a custom order I've done, I got an email that the person was looking forward to 'posing' them, I hope they just mean setting them up, because my sculptures aren't flexible......

yeah, that's got to be it, yeah....

One more day of planning then we hit the school year running. I hope I have trouble keeping up with orders and school. You read me right, I hope that I have lots of orders from Etsy to make me panic about getting my school work done. ;)
